The college is owned by David Yocum of St. Marys, Ks. Students & Clients check in at our college reception desk. Student & Client schedules are managed daily from the reception area. Clients can schedule services in our hair design studio, day spa and massage studio. Clients visiting the college can buy professional products to maintain that beautiful look they receive from our students. Located at the front of our college, the Hair Design Studio operates like a full service professional salon. Our students train in the same environment they will work in upon graduation. Each station has plenty of space to accomodate our students and clients. Our Hair Design Studio uses a special salon lightbulb to ensure proper lighting for formulating that special color or look the client is looking for. Large restroom facilities are available for our clients and students. The American Academy of Cosmetology is a Pivot Point Member School. Another skylight above our hair design studio. Our hair design studio uses the latest shampoo bowls on the market. A specially designed heat pump provides hot water at the tap for our students and clients. Hot water is constantly supplied to our shampoo bowls so our clients are comfortable while receiving their hair services. Dryer chairs are located in the hair design studio for our hair services. Our clients relax in our reception area before their service begins. The college has over 20,000 square feet of training space. A 200 ft. hallway leads down the center of the college with access to each classroom and our studios. The college has 3 upstair office areas that our educators use to prepare their material for classroom training. Our students have a spacious breakroom to unwind between classes and store their personal belongings. Each student has an individual locker to store their equipment, books and personal belongings while they are in enrolled in the college. Located in the student center, students have access to lunchroom supplies, fridge and freezers and more! Vending machines are available for students with a variety of drinks and lunch items. Are you ready for success! At the back of the student center is our large product storeroom where our staff organizes supplies for the classrooms and studios. Lunch Tables Laptop computers are available to the students during their break time and before and after school. Students have access to high speed internet services to check e-mail, research web sites, etc. A laser printer is available for students to print out their resumes, research projects and more. A large dispensary is used by our staff and students to mix and formulate products, steam towels and linens for our spa and massage services and services our laundry needs. Classroom and spa areas are located behind doors to ensure a quiet classroom and spa experience. Located in the college is our beautiful day spa studio. A mini dispensary is available in the day spa for our student and clients. Beautiful pedicure chairs are located in the spa for our clients. More pedicure stations. Private treatment rooms are located behind this door. The Spa walls are insulated for a quiet atmosphere. Each private room has a professional facial bed that can adjust to any need of our clients. Large rooms give our clients comfort and privacy. Spa rooms are used for all body service treatments. The Day Spa studio has 5 private treatment rooms. Beautiful floor credenzas are used to store spa products and towels. The paragon facial machine is used in our training for both of our esthetics and cosmetology programs. The spa walls are painted a beautiful green that adds to the relaxing atmosphere. Our hair design classroom is used to prepare our students for the salon. Students in this class prepared a hair display for our open house. Another view of our class project. Each classroom is separated from the training centers with a spacious hallway. Make up and skin care display. Facial beds are used in the classroom to prepare our students for life in the spa! Students learn the use of the paragon facial machine in the classroom. Theory training for skin care in the esthetics classroom. Professional product carts are used to set up classroom training and spa services. Another photo of our skin care classroom. Educator Offices are located upstairs. Each educator has an office to prepare their educational materials. Our freshman cosmetology classroom provides our students with the best equipment available for training in the cosmetology arts. Special built training desks include outlets for students to use while training with professional hair care appliances. Each hair design classroom includes shampoo bowls for students to use while training. Our cosmetology offices include resource materials for our educators provided by Pivot Point International. Our college is a pivot point member school. Beautiful nail stations are provided for our nail technology classroom. Each classroom includes a video monitor and video support materials that enhance our training system. The director's office is located on the ground floor and is used to meet with students interested in cosmetology, esthetics, nail technology and massage therapy courses. The massage wing of the college has a massage studio that includes 9 private treatment rooms and a massage dispensary. At the front of the massage studio is a min-dispensary that our students and staff use to set up for clients receiving massages. Growing more in popularity, massage chairs are provided for our students to learn the art of massage using a professional massage chair unit. Heating units are provided in the massage studio to heat linens and stones for a complete massage experiences. Comfortable massage beds are provided for our clients. At the back of our studio is a room built for 2. Couples or friends can receive a side-by-side massage in a relaxing room. Our massage classrooms are divided into two training centers. This room is for hands-on training where students apply their classroom studies into hands-on practice. A dispensary sink area is available in the massage classroom for santizing products used in the massage training center. The second massage classroom is used for theoretical studies in the art and sciences of massage. Extensive study in the history and sciences of massage are provided in this classroom.
