Jenny Noel — American Academy Graduate

I first heard about the American Academy from graduates in my hometown of Logan, Kansas which is about 3 hours from Manhattan.  The graduates raved about the education they received from the Academy so I decided to visit.  The school was amazing!  I chose the Academy because it is clean, the atmosphere is energizing, and the educators are knowledgeable.  Every educator has no problem passing on what they know to the students.  The Pivot Point Training was great because I loved the fact that I actually got to watch things being done before doing them myself. When I applied for jobs, I discovered that the Pivot Point Training instantly provided me with great credials. My experience at the Academy was very rewarding and positive.   So much so, that I decided to comeback for Massage Therapy in March 2009.

If you want a school that really cares, the Academy is the place. They care if you come to school and that you are happy with your education.  Mr. Yocum, the school's owner, is one of the coolest guys I have ever met.  He really knows what he is doing.  He bends over backwards to make sure you are happy, successful and prepared for the real world.  Additionally, he takes the time to get to know each student individually. I would definitely say my education was worth every cent. The people who work here make all the difference."

Sara Blide — American Academy Graduate

Sara first discoved the American Academy of Cosmetology and Massage Therapy at Hays High School's career day during her junior year. She was compelled to talk to David Yocum the school's owner who was manning the table at the time. "David was well-dressed, friendly and very informative about a career in Cosmotology. We had another career day, my senior year and David was there again. He gave me and my mother a gift certificate to come visit the school and experience the quality of the services taught. David won me over. He talked about everything in detail. The most impressive part was he talked to me like I was somebody, not just a tuition."

When Sara and her mother visited the school, they were in "Aw". Sara recalls, "The set-up was amazing, all the stations, the facility and most of all the professionalism. I was blown away!" When applying for jobs, employers are impressed with the advanced classes she took at the Academy such as: microdermabrasion and light therapy treatments.

Sara states that the staff was also incredible. "They know their stuff! It was great hands on training and a question was never turned away. I ask alot of questions so I really appreciated that about them." 

"If you are considering going to Cosmetology or Massage Therapy school, the American Academy is the place. David, in very involved through his motivational morning meetings,  and knowing who we are as individuals. He really cares. This school didn't hide anything from me. They explained it may take awhile to become successful in this business. They not only trained me to do hair etc...they trained me on the importance of retail sales, goal setting and business management. I recommend this school to anyone.  You will get more than you ever thought you would."

Julie was referred the American Academy of Cosmetology and Massage Therapy by a friend. She visited the Academy after viewing some other schools.  She was impressed with how nice everything looked but what stands out in her mind, "The staff was really nice. It is something I will never forget."
